Complain about the Long Waits

The French love to eat, but unlike Americans, they like to take their time with meals that have been prepared in modest proportions. Lunches and dinners are meant to be savored. You cannot expect service to go as efficiently, even in big cities. More than just getting their food and drinks on-the-go, the people prefer the social aspect of eating. It’s their time for themselves or with friends, and because no one is really in a rush, service may be a tad slower. Don’t complain and just savor every moment when you’re sitting in a café. Moaning and groaning about it won’t get you anything by sidelong glances.
