You’ll notice that when you eat out, the tip has already been included in the bill. French law dictates that all establishments do this when you order a meal in any establishment. So, tipping isn’t a must. However, it is highly encouraged. You’d get a more appreciative wait staff when you do this. The same rules apply to taxi drivers, rest room attendants, and usherettes. The amount doesn’t have to be exorbitant. A little goes a long, long way when it comes to the service industry. Plus, it’s just better to acknowledge the hard work people do.
