Unlike other countries where water is given free at restaurants, in Germany water is charged just like an ordinary drink. Don’t get shocked, that’s how it is all over the nation. You have to order it, and realize they have different kinds to choose from. If you want plain water, ask for Still water. There is Mineral Water, Sparkling Water, etc., all come in bottles.
