Biergarten tables and benches are meant for several people to enjoy. It is the spirit of camaraderie found during the Oktoberfest celebration. If you are a couple or alone, expect others to sit at the same table with you. You don’t even have to talk to them or buy them a bier, just exchange pleasantries and go on enjoying. Of course there is nothing wrong with making new friends, and when they realize you are tourists, they may even buy you a bier. It is a good experience for tourists. Just don’t overdrink to the point of getting drunk. Making friends is good, making enemies is not good.
