Mispronounce The “Hallo” Greeting

Germans don’t say hello, it’s “hallo”! It is the most usual greeting being used. Also, a firm handshake from men with eye contact is expected, don’t offer your hand without looking at the person you are greeting. It is rude and impolite. They will take it to mean offense. And don’t salute or wave your hand, it is not understood to be a greeting. Remember the Germans are quite formal, even in their ways of greeting. It’s not difficult to get used to. So be aware and do as the Germans do.
