When walking in Germany, notice how the pedestrians are patiently waiting for the green light to cross, even when there are no vehicles in sight. Even if you are in a rush, do not be impatient and break the rules, wait for the light to turn green. It is only proper. Otherwise you may be scolded by the locals, and fined by the authorities. And obviously, never jaywalk, it is a crime, and could save your life. This is basically a rule of thumb anywhere you go. But they are stricter in Germany. So behave accordingly, it is not a difficult thing to do. Always remember you are a guest in their country.
