Sing The First Verse Of The National Anthem

Why, you may ask? Well, it is important to consider the historical background of the “Deutschlandlied”. The song was written in 1841, and became the national anthem of the Weimar Republic in 1922. But it was repurposed by the Nazis who sang the first verse followed by their party anthem. The Allied Parties banned the singing of “Deutschlandlied” after WWII, until the new German government declared in 1952, that only the third verse will be the official national anthem. So again, stigma of the Nazis. So be aware. Don’t even talk about it, Germans will take offense.
