Taking cabs might seem like the best and simplest way to explore an unfamiliar place, but that might not be the case in Jamaica. One of the reasons for this, especially if it is your first time here, is that there is a culture of bargaining in Jamaica. And if you are not used to haggling, some drivers may take advantage of you and may charge you an expensive fare. On the other hand, if you like haggling and trying to figure out the best price for each cab ride, then this would be an acceptable choice. Haggling can be a fun experience, but it isn’t for everyone. By the way, not all drivers are out to take advantage of tourists like you.
