Locals have a very laid-back vibe, which makes Jamaica an excellent destination for tourists wanting to relax and slow down. The downside of this would be that punctuality is not that important for the locals. The term “island time” is a very real thing in Jamaica. So, don’t expect punctuality even from your tour guide or hotel staff. This can be annoying to someone who is used to having everything planed to the last minute. However, you can’t do anything about it. The best thing to do would be to anticipate this, schedule activities in advance and allot extra time in between activities, trips and the like to serve as a “buffer” for your plans. And learn to get used to a slower and laid-back pace during your time in Jamaica. Remember! You are on vacation. You are here to relax and enjoy.
