Johnny Depp was quite a star from the very beginning of his career, and actors everywhere could only dream of wanting to act on the same movie as him. When Penélope Cruz first came to America, she didn’t really know how to speak English, although you couldn’t tell from watching her in her in her movies. She jokes that she only knew a few phrases, and one of them was “I want to work with Johnny Depp.” Not only did she play his wife in the movie Blow, but the two hit it off despite Depp’s very strange sense of humor. She told the Daily Mail, “The only problem is he has a very peculiar sense of humor – and even though I know all his tricks, he can still crack me up. I can’t stop laughing when we are working so we had a few problems on the set. One time we were stuck for two hours and couldn’t finish the scene because we couldn’t stop laughing.”
