Joe Mauer spent his entire 15-season career with the Minnesota Twins in Major League Baseball. The catcher, designated hitter, and first baseman was a six-time All-Star, AL MVP, and the only catcher to have won three batting titles in MLB history. His wife is former high school classmate Maddie Bisanz but didn’t actually date her until he was in the big leagues already. They graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in 2001 and went their separate ways, with Joe choosing a career in baseball over football and Maddie becoming a nurse in St. Paul. Joe briefly dated Chelsea Cooley, the 2005 Miss USA who represented North Carolina, before parting ways in 2006. It didn’t take long for Joe and Maddie to reconnect, and after two years of dating, got engaged, and married in 2012. Fittingly enough, the couple was blessed by twin daughters the following year, and a son in 2018.
