This billionaire is the daughter of Amancio Ortega of Spain, who founded the retail chain Zara. She is a mother of three and is 51 years old. She inherited a small but valuable share of Zara’s parent company, Inditex, when her mother, Rosalia Mera died in 2013. Both her parents founded the company. Next to her father, she is the second richest person in Spain. She devotes most of her time to a foundation her mother started which supports vocational training for people with disabilities. Her brother Marcos has cerebral palsy. She may be a billionairess, but she lives a discreet life and rejects ostentation. She has invested in real estate through her company Pontegadea. Most of the properties are hotels, and office buildings, though a small percentage is for residential and commercial units, warehouses, and parking lots. 90% of these assets are located outside Spain.
