A German Heiress who inherited from her father Herbert Quandt, large stakes in many companies like carmaker BMW and pharmaceutical manufacturer Atlanta. Armed with an MBA in Economics, she transformed her grandfather’s pharmaceutical business into a world-class specialty chemical corporation. She also holds stakes in wind power outfit Nordex AG and carbon and graphite producer SGL Group. She married Jan Klatten in 1990. They have three children. Normally maintains a low profile but was featured by several tabloids over a blackmail scandal regarding sensitive personal affairs. In 2007, she was blackmailed by Helg “Russak” Sgarbi, a Swiss national who threatened to expose materials depicting the two of them having an affair. He was charged with similar blackmail schemes against multiple women and was sentenced to six years in jail. His accomplice, Italian hotel owner Ernano Barretta who did the filming was sentenced to 7 years in 2012.
