Her late husband Charles Schusterman, founded Samson Resources, one of America’s largest gas production companies. After her husband died in the year 2000 due to leukemia, she sold the company for $7.2 billion, of which around $2 billion went to the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Foundation. It is devoted to Jewish charities and early childhood education. Lynn was born into a German-Jewish family in Kansas City, Missouri. She was raised in Oklahoma. She married Charles Schusterman, a Russian-Jewish American in 1962. She has 3 children and six granddaughters. She was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame together with her late husband, and in 2003, into the Oklahoma Women’s Hall of Fame. 2006 saw her also inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
