As of 2017, her shopping malls have been visited by over 300 million people. She divorced her husband in 2012, and he no longer has a role in her company. She has a daughter, Cai Xinyi, who is the youngest billionaire in China at 20+ years of age, thanks to a trust fund set-up by her billionaire mother. Wu Yajun started as a factory worker earning around $16 a month. Now she is the richest self-made woman in the world. She passed her 44% stake of Longfor to her daughter to keep the wealth in the family.
