Marian co-founded Little Caesars Pizza with her late husband Mike Ilitch in 1959. The pizza chain hauls in around $4 billion in annual systemwide sales. She also owns The Detroit Red Wings, and MotorCity Casino Hotel. She is now helping build a $1.4 billion sports and entertainment district in Detroit that includes a new headquarters with pizza shaped windows. She is recognized as one of the most successful businesswomen in the country. She started in the food business by filling napkin containers and salt and pepper shakers in her father’s restaurant. When she married Mike, they opened a single Little Caesars pizza joint in Garden City, Michigan. They grew the business ito the largest carry-out pizza chain with restaurants in all 50 states, and in more than 20 countries across the globe.
