Beate is a German billionaire heiress, whom together with her brother Karl Albrecht Jr., are valued at a net worth of $26.6 billion. Their father, Karl Albrecht founded the discount supermarket chain Aldi with his brother Theo. Karl and Theo split ownership in 1961, where Karl got the stores in southern Germany, and the rights to the Aldi brand in Australia, the UK, and the US; while Theo got the stores in northern Germany and the rest of Europe. Beate does not take an effective part of the family business, but she holds the position of one of the board of directors. Aldi Sued is spread across the UK, Australia, Europe, and the US. She is an active philanthropist donating to promoting education, cultural issues, and saving the environment. She married Peter Heister and has six children. Her husband and son Peter Max look after the business.
