Daughter of Audrey Ruth and Forrest Mars, Sr., and granddaughter of Frank C. Mars, the founders of the American candy company Mars, Incorporated. The Mars family has an estimated fortune of close to $90 billion. She owns an estimated ⅓ of the candy giant. She worked for the company for 20 years and served on the board until 2016. Mars chocolates feature 29 brands in total, including the $5 billion global brands Snickers, M & M’s, Galaxy, Mars, Milky Way, and Twix. She also serves on six boards as a philanthropist, such as the Smithsonian and National Archives. She is committed to improving the environment and wildlife through the Mars Foundation. In 2013, she figured in an auto accident which killed 1 person and caused the miscarriage of a pregnant woman. She admitted to falling asleep at the wheel, and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge or reckless driving.
