This is a tough herding dog not particularly popular outside Australia. But shares qualities typical of herding dogs, physically active, loves to be given work to do, and has a knack for problem solving as well. They are gifted when it comes to understanding and executing human commands. They love challenges, and respond well to reward-based training. They are strong and hardworking to be able to herd cattle in challenging terrain across Australia. They also have a strong endurance to be able to do this for long distances. They make loving pets as well, and can mix well with kids. They do need to exercise daily though, so are best for outdoors.
