A great hunting dog that is agile, obedient, and smart. They require a lot of physical activity and mental stimulation. Closely related to the English cocker spaniel, though they are larger in size. Very sociable, they get extremely lonely when left alone. They perform great in obedience and agility competitions. Their desire to please make them easy to train. Good for novice or first-time dog owners. They are very gentle and affectionate, particularly with toddlers.
