Made famous by the “Lassie” movies, the Collie has a rare mix of mental and emotional intelligence and can excel as a therapy and assistance partner-dog. Used primarily as a herding dog before. They have a beautiful coat of fur that needs daily grooming lest it gets tangled. Obedient and loyal as well. Originally a Scotland native, particularly in the highlands. They are sensitive, and have an amazing ability to foresee their owner’s needs. They are also great with children as they are very mild-mannered. However, they are known to be barkers, especially when left alone for too long.
