A powerful big prey hunting dog that loves the outdoors, but enjoys lazing on a couch as well. They come from the Southern Africa region. They are a great hiking companion, and will protect their owners to the death if needed against mountain lions or even bears. Fearless but affectionate. Males are aggressive towards other male dogs in general, but can be trained to socialize. However training this dog properly is not easy, they are very independent thinkers. Yet they are good with cats…must be since they are both independent thinkers. They will tolerate each other and behave properly, especially if they grew up together.
