The Norwegian elkhound is the national dog of Norway. It is a hunter, guardian, defender, and herder. It is known for its courage in hunting elk, moose, wolves, and bears. They do well with strangers, and love children. But they can be aggressive with other dogs if not socialized properly. These dogs can withstand cold temperatures, but can adapt to warmer climates.
