The Chevrolet Corvair 95 Rampside was an unusual looking vehicle. Quite hilarious actually. This pickup was made to challenge Volkswagen for their Type 2 vans. The Corvair pickup was made from 1961 through 1964, and is considered a rare oddity currently. Around 2,800 were produced in 1961, and only 400 the following year. Chevy realized eventually that this vehicle won’t cut it as a pickup. It had its good points though. The engine-under-the-bed design made loading fairly high off the ground.It had a fold-down side panel for easy loading of wheelbarrows, motorcycles, and other heavy objects. Still, it was a oddity even during its time, and that’s all it was.
