The Dodge Dude Was Not For Every “Dude”

The Spokesman Review

The Dodge dude was released in 1969, but it ended up confusing a lot of people. Dodge released this as part of their Sweptline pickup series. Basically, it was just a dodge D100 with special decals added. Sadly it did not “pick-up”, and was out of production just after a year. It seemed the Dude did not impress the “dudes.” Still, Dodge released the Durango Dude in 2004. It took some time, but this model had a bit more added to it. It had lowered suspension, a cat-back dual exhaust, and a composite hood inspired by the Dodge RAM SRT10. Seems Dodge did not want to give up the fight…but the Dude was another blemish on their track record.
