The Ford Ranchero In 1957 Was Trying to Pass For A Truck

Released in 1957, The Ford Ranchero was advertised and sold as a truck. Seems Ford was experimenting to see if it would be accepted by the market. But it did not fly with pickup buyers. It was even thought to be a prank of sorts. It was adapted from a 2-door station wagon after all. Its slogan read, “ More than a Car, More than a Truck.” While it had a high cargo capacity, it still failed to impress most. Currently, it is a collector’s item, and worth more as an oddity.
