Pat Sajak was born on October 26, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. He was born as Patrick Leonard Sajdak. Sajak is most well-known for hosting “The Wheel of Fortune” since 1981. Sajak left the show for a while to host his own talk show, otherwise he has hosted the show for most of its run. The Wheel of Fortune aired on television in 1975, it was initially hosted by Chuck Woolery.
The onscreen interactions of Sajak with the contestants and Vanna White are mostly harmless stuff. Off screen, things are a bit different. Sajak has been known to aggressively espouse his disbelief in the science behind climate change. In May 2014, Salon noted that Sajak wrote on Twitter “I now believe global warming alarmists are unpatriotic racists knowingly misleading for their own ends.” How racism factors in with climate change can be anyone’s guess. Sajak tried to backtrack on his Tweet, stating that it was just meant as a joke. With the “racist” part added to emphasize the name-calling aimed at people who do not believe in science. However, when his twitter and social media posting history was checked, it showed that he has been denying climate change for quite a while.
