Bob Barker was born on December 12, 1923 as Robert William Barker. He is a retired American television game show host. He is best known for hosting the highest rated and longest-running daytime game show in North American television history, “The Price is Right”. For decades, people could not talk about television game shows without mentioning Bob Barker; unofficially, he was king of daytime game shows. Barker hosted the show from 1972 until he retired on 2007. He has been associated with the energetic atmosphere and gleeful times of “The Price is Right”; unbeknown to the public that there was something happening behind the scenes.
In addition to Bob Barker, “The Price is Right” also had models to showcase the fabulous prizes. In 1994, Dian Parkinson (a former model of “The Price is Right”), filed a lawsuit against Barker. In her lawsuit, Parkinson alleged that Barker required her to perform sexual acts for 3 ½ years. According to Parkinson, she feared that she might get fired if she refused. Several months after, Barker (a widower since 1981), mentioned that he was involved with Parkinson when these “acts” occurred and that she was the one who initiated this “little hanky-panky”. And he was only going public since Parkinson had threatened to sue unless she got $8 million. Parkinson eventually dropped the lawsuit due to medical distress and insufficient funds to pay for legal fees.
