Pyongyang Golf Course (Pyongyang, North Korea)

Built in 1987 from a Japanese design to commemorate the 75th birthday of Kim Il-Sung, former North Korean leader, the Pyongyang Golf Course is an 18-hole par 72 course sitting along the banks of Taicheng Lake and is said to be the “world’s most exclusive golf course,” and is the only golf course in North Korea. If you are bold, or crazy enough, to step foot in the country to play a round of golf here, don’t bother bringing your clubs as you can only rent them. The most famous story about the course is when current “Dear Leader” Kim Jong-un’s father, Kim Jong-Il, played his first and only round in 1994 and set the course, or world record, for scoring a 34-under 38, courtesy of 11 holes-in-one.
