Never Take Selfies Inside Churches

Source: https://www.croatiaweek.com

There are many magnificent churches in Croatia that feature different architectural styles, including Baroque, Gothic, and Romanesque, and built from limestone and marble. Croatia is predominantly Catholic, and these churches are considered sacred monuments. They are places of silent reflection and prayer and not tourist hotspots where you can be loud and take photos of yourself. Observe and admire the cathedrals, their stained-glass windows, their grand stairs and giant doors, as well as their medieval walls and tiled roof. Light a candle inside the church or climb the bell tower to have an amazing view of the town and sea, but remember to be respectful and don’t take selfies inside the church.
Be mindful as well that Croatians take their Catholic faith seriously. Avoid subjects that locals might find offensive, such as family planning, divorce, and euthanasia. Even if your beliefs are different, make sure not speak in a blasphemous manner about God and religion, especially when you’re conversing with a local.
