While the Poles aren’t a very superstitious folk, there are certain customs that they actually believe in, and one of those has to do with giving flowers as gifts.
When it comes to bringing flowers, as a gesture of gratitude for example, the number of flowers in the arrangement determines the kind of message you’re sending the receiver. They really don’t mind receiving beautiful floral bouquets as long as the giver makes sure that they count the fragrant and colorful buds correctly.
Always make sure that the flower count in the arrangement equals an odd number, that way, you’ll be sure to put a smile on the person getting them instead of breaking their hearts. This is because sending out even-numbered bouquets might be misconstrued, especially if your intention is to bring joy.
Why, you ask?
Well, it is an old belief that even-numbered bouquets are only meant for funerals. You wouldn’t want people to think that you wished them dead, now would you?
