Be Surprised if You Get Invited to Dinner

The Polish people aren’t icy as the chilly weather they have in their country. Many wrongly assume that the Poles are a snobbish lot. Getting to know the locals will surely change your perspective of them since they really are a warm bunch. We really wouldn’t be surprised if someone you’ve relatively just met, reaches out and invites you over to their place for dinner. That’s how friendly and welcoming they are.
If or when you do get invited, be gracious enough to accept the gesture, as this would certainly make them feel appreciated. Once you do, make sure to leave room in your tummy for food as they sure-as-hell will feed you to death (well, not really but, close to it).
Making an excuse that you aren’t hungry will only fall on deaf ears because they actually have a delicacy called gołąbki (cabbage rolls) for those who don’t feel like eating. Begging-off food by saying you’ve already eaten will only bring the pączki (doughnuts) out much quicker.
You don’t even need to say you’re thirsty, because all the reason your host will need for him to bring out a good bottle of wine (or vodka), is your presence.
