Alicia Christian Foster, better known as Jodie Foster, started out as a child model when she was three years old as the little girl from the Coppertone ads. She started acting in 1968, went on to work in some of the most compelling films of the 1970s such as Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore and Taxi Driver, where she played a child prostitute. She was stalked while she was at college, and her stalker attempted to kill then-President Ronald Reagan in order to impress her. Foster has been known for depicting strong women, and she has most recently directed episodes for Netflix’s shows like Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, and Black Mirror.
