Suzanne Somers

Closer Weekly

Suzanne Somers’ career began in the late 1960s, but she is considered an iconic 70s actress. You may remember her from the 1973 film “American Graffiti” as the mysterious blonde in the T-Bird. Her big break was the role of Chrissy Snow on the hit comedy series, “Three’s Company”, opposite Joyce DeWitt and John Ritter. Somers was on the cast for four years, then asked for a monumental raise in her salary because she believed she was the reason the show had such high ratings. This view wasn’t shared by the producers, who wound up diminishing her screen time to about 60 seconds per episode, before finally releasing her from her contract. She went on to write books, endorse popular health products, and do shows in Las Vegas before making it back to TV.
