Catherine Bach’s first role was a murder victim in The Midnight Man, following that she acted in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. But in 1979, she landed the part of Daisy Duke, in the hit series The Dukes of Hazzard, which made her a big success. At the audition for Daisy, she asked if she could bring in her own costume. This consisted of a T-shirt and pair of ragged, cut-off jeans that are now ubiquitously known as “Daisy Dukes”. When the show ended, she still accepted parts on soaps, the most recent of which being the role of Anita Lawson on the Young and the Restless.
