The best-selling female artist of the millennium has never shied away from her diva reputation. From having her own made-up rule of never being seen in fluorescent lighting without sunglasses to bringing in her own lighting team to a radio interview to demanding an extra suite in a London hotel just for her wardrobe, Mariah Carey may be the diva of divas. While the public has learned to live with her prima donna antics, her rudeness is something else. Once, Carey broke bowling rules by refusing to wear appropriate shoes and insisted on wearing stilettos to go bowling. During an hour-long signing, she demanded a record shop bathroom be redecorated for her use and even smashed a tea set to make sure no one else can use it.

Carey’s rude to other celebrities, too. When asked about Jennifer Lopez during an interview in the early 2000s, Carey responded with her infamous phrase, “I don’t know her.” When asked again over a decade later, Carey still maintained she didn’t know Lopez. Though in another interview, when asked about singing a duet with Lopez, Carey was quoted saying, “I’d rather be on stage with a pig.” At least she finally acknowledged she knew J.Lo.
