The man who portrayed Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise on the much-beloved Star Trek series, William Shatner, is another pop culture treasure. He’s certainly had an interesting career over the past seven decades as an actor, host, singer, author, and filmmaker. Aside from writing several books set in the Star Trek universe and hosting the reality-based TV series Rescue 911, Shatner has also appeared on the hilarious sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun as the “Big Giant Head.” Unfortunately, all that fame and glory may have gotten to his big giant head, and the cultural icon has become notoriously rude.

His former co-stars, Leonard Nimoy, George Takei, and Nichelle Nichols, all have stories of the spaceship captain’s constant need to be the center of attention, often stealing their lines and being jealous. Even at a fan expo where Shatner was invited to moderate the Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) panel, he constantly talked over other guests, was extremely rude to his co-stars, and made several sexist and racist comments.
