It’s hard to believe that one of the most beloved and hilarious stars in Hollywood could be a major prick in real life. Ben Stiller seems so nice playing the awkward straight man in his movies, especially as the lovestruck but terribly unfortunate Ted Stroehmann in There’s Something About Mary or the neurotic but well-meaning Greg Focker in Meet the Parents.

Disappointingly, the archetype of comic brilliance revealed a monstrous egoistic side when he directed the satirical action comedy Tropic Thunder in 2008. According to some people who worked on the set, aside from being very controlling, Stiller was also incredibly nasty to everyone. He freaked out when there weren’t exactly two ice cubes in his Diet Coke, and he even fired someone who didn’t put enough sugar in his coffee. He also made his PA wait in his parking space even though it was already reserved for him and labeled with his nameplate.
