Cheyenne Nicole Woods may have a famous golf name, but the niece of a legendary golfer is making a name for herself on the LPGA Tour and on social media. The curvy American professional golfer was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Susan and Earl Dennison Woods Jr., Tiger Woods’ half-brother. Cheyenne won over 30 amateur tournaments when she played for the Xavier College Preparatory golf team and Wake Forest University’s Demon Deacons. After graduating, she qualified for the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open by finishing as co-medalist and turned pro when she competed in the 2012 LPGA Championship. Cheyenne is the sixth African American to participate in the LPGA Tour, and knowing that an African American woman is yet to win on the LPGA, she believes the sport needs to be more inclusive and accessible.
