The Mexican American Gerina Michelle Mendoza Piller was born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico where she did not only turn out to be a highly skilled young golfer winning the 2003 State Golf Championship, she was also an all-state volleyball player. Quite the tomboy growing up, playing baseball and dreaming of becoming a professional athlete, Gerina ended up becoming one of the most beautiful and talented golfers in the world, even once representing the United States in the Olympics Games. She turned pro in 2007 and though she did not qualify for the LPGA Tour, she got to play in the 2008 Futures Tour. Alongside fellow golfer Blair O’Neal, Gerina appeared on The Big Break: Prince Edward Island where she was a runner-up, defeated by the only male contestant who made it to the top four. After finishing fifth on the money list in the 2010 Futures Tour, Gerina finally got to play a full season on the 2011 LPGA Tour.
