The elegant Morgan Pressel was the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open and compete in the national championship when she was only 12 years old. In 2005, she was the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Player of the Year, and the following year, she won the AJGA Nancy Lopez Award. The golf phenomenon turned pro when she was 17, and when she won the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2007 at age 18, she became the youngest-ever golfer to win a modern LPGA major championship. Morgan was born in Tampa, Florida, started playing golf when she was eight, and was raised by her grandparents when her mother died from breast cancer in 2003. Her grandfather, Dr. Herb Krickstein, is a retired physician who greatly influenced her to pursue a career in golf.
