Emma Carpenter is a fast-rising sophomore for the University of Minnesota’s Golden Gophers. One of the top recruits from the class of 2019, she played for the DeKalb High School Barbs, earning the Daily Chronicle Girls Golf Player of the Year award for three straight years as a result of her strong performance that got her to the state tournament as well as medalist honors at the Women’s Western Junior. She currently has four top 10 finishes out of the 15 events she competed in since 2018, with the most recent coming at the Golfweek Midwest Collegiate this past July where she finished 6th. Though her standing has slid down a bit at the World Amateur Golf Rankings, there is no denying that she has blossomed into one of the most beautiful players in the game.
