Taylor and his team of research and technicians had gone out to search for the U.S.S. Grayback. For the experts, the name was less lyrical – they called it the S.S.-208. This was a salvage operation on their end and they carried the whole mission out for the Lost 52 Project. Teams were formed to locate 52 US submarines that had disappeared during WWII. In fact, the US Navy said that the Grayback hadn’t been seen since the late March 44. Although it is unlikely that all 52 submarines will be discovered, they did hope to find many of the names on the list, and this is exactly what had happened to Taylor.
