Taking Enemies Down

Maternity Week

After a couple of days, the Grayback once again surfaced. She decided to show off her prowess on Christmas day of that same year. She then caught four landing barges, all unaware of her presence. She sank them all. After just four short days, an enemy sub had fired torpedoes at her. The skilled crew managed to evade all these. She then set back to port and at the start of 1943, the first few months had been uneventful for her. Then, she attacked the Imperial Japanese Navy Vessel I-18 quite easily not too long after. And while the enemy managed to escape relatively unscathed, the U.S.S. Fletcher came in to help and sank the very same vessel. The fight turned out to be costly for the Fletcher, however, as she lost 102 of her crew members.
