The first movie depicted the characters with complex relationships, and more complex motivations. Many fans claimed it lacked action sequences, and left too many plot threads dangling. Well, director Bryan Singer decided to address these issues in the second movie. The introduction of a new character, the blue-hued Nightcrawler, kept the audience captivated as he leapt, disappeared, and appeared again, in an attempt to assassinate the president. A sigh of relief from the audience was evident when they realized that he was brainwashed to do the evil deed. The movie brings the mutants together to fight xenophobia, instead of each other. This was also appreciated by the fans – the sequel surely was better than the original again.
