When most people think of a Friday the 13th movie, it is usually Part 2. It is actually the first movie that defines Jason Voorhees as the supernatural killer, and it defines so much of what followed. The first movie featured Jason’s mother Pamela, as the tormentor of the counselors of Camp Crystal Lake, whom she blamed responsible for her son’s death. While the first movie set-up the psychology of Jason, it was Part 2 that fully unleashed him and the terror associated with him. However, the franchise did have some not-so-great sequels after Part 2, which clearly makes the second installment the best yet. It is not easy to make horror movie sequels as terrifying as the original, as in the Jaws series. But Friday the 13th Part 2 is an exception to the rule, and many will testify to that.
