This is a photo of Debbie Reynolds (left) watching her daughter Carrie Fisher playing solitaire. They were extremely talented in their own rights — Reynolds had had only three months to learn what Singing in the Rain co-stars Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor had been doing for years, yet she pulled it off seamlessly, especially in the song number “Good Morning”. Carrie Fisher on the other hand was best known as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as being a stellar writer and storyteller. Fisher suffered a medical emergency on 23 December 2016 and was hospitalized. She died a few days later on 27 December 2016. Her mother, Debbie Reynolds, died of a stroke the very next day.
