Most people remember Farrah Fawcett for her appearance on the hit TV show, Charlie’s Angels. Her signature wispy hair started a decade-long trend, and her iconic smile and beautiful body put her on the walls of teenage boys everywhere. She was also a serious actress in a couple of made-for-tv movies, the first of which was “The Burning Bed”, about a battered wife and her act of vengeance against her rat-fink abusive husband. The second movie was based on real-life murderer Diana Downs, and it was called “Small Sacrifices”. Fawcett earned both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for these roles.
When all is said and done, these pictures show us a past that included more than what we initially thought or believed was possible. Photographs, especially in quiet moments, help us remember that the people we looked up to growing up, and the people who helped shape history, are human too.
