Don’t Take Photos Of Locals Without Seeking Permission First

There are people who don’t want their pictures taken by tourists. It is understandable, since the photographer has no business taking pictures of them. Iranians, especially the older generation are camera shy for several reasons. Mostly, is that they don’t want to appear on social media, especially nowadays where there is some political controversy. Others also believe it will bring them bad luck. So, always ask permission first before snapping a photo. If you are denied, just be polite and thank them and move on. Don’t even try to sneak in a photo, you may get yourself in real trouble. It is not worth it for sure.
