Don’t Flush Down Toilet Paper

Most places will discourage this, and Iran is no different. The sewage and piping system in the country is not updated. Toilet paper can clog the system and make the toilet overflow. Use the trash bins that are found in the bathrooms. Also, don’t expect there to be rolls of toilet paper in the bathrooms, especially in public toilets. It is best if you always carry some with you. Also, bring your own sanitizer and wet wipes. Don’t expect hand soap in public toilets, or even in some rest rooms in restaurants. Most places also have squat toilets, so don’t get shocked if you encounter them.
